In October 2006, the Grade Sixes and a few of the Grade fives had the opportunity of going on a visit to Japan! This is our story...
On the 1st of October 21 grade 5/6 students left for Japan and we arrived at Narita airport at 6:30 am on the 2nd October. The first town we stayed at was Yamagata where we stayed with host families in groups of two. On Tuesday 3 October we went to Yamagata Elementary school with our host families and spent the day there.

On Wednesday we said goodbye to our host family and went to a Kindergarten for lunch where I learnt how to walk on stilts!

Next we went to Matsumoto Castle and later that afternoon we met our next host family at Misato.
We spent the next day at Misato Elementary school. On Friday we visited our old sister school in Otaki. Then we met our next host family in Agematsu.
On Saturday morning we went up into the mountains and went on a short train ride along a river and through the forest. Afterwards we went to a blue berry farm with our host mum. On Sunday we went to the town’s sport festival. It was really fun. There were heaps of great events to enter.

On Monday we said goodbye to Agematsu and travelled back through Tokyo and back to Narita airport. At 10 pm we found out that the flight was delayed until next morning which meant we had to go back to a hotel and leave the next morning!
Finally on Tuesday night we arrived back in Melbourne. It was a Fantastic trip and anybody who is in year 6 next year I highly recommend going. It was a great experience and I really want to go back soon.
